Crude Oil Exploration

Thanks to its close association with the Kazakh government and its parent company, Kaspi Neft Gas, AO enjoys a distinct advantage in accessing prime exploration acreage. The company has secured a favorable position with the government, granting it access to new territories through direct negotiations and providing pre-emption rights to acquire existing oil and gas assets when they become available for sale. This strategic advantage positions Kaspi Neft Gas, AO to continually expand its exploration portfolio and effectively compete with some of the world's leading oil companies.

Kaspi Neft Gas, AO firmly believes that Kazakhstan offers substantial untapped exploration potential, both in offshore and onshore areas. In recent years, the company has ventured into offshore exploration activities in regions such as Liman, Taisogan, R-9, and the vicinity surrounding the Uzen and Karamandybas fields. While surface exploration has been exhaustive to depths of 3 to 3.5 kilometers, Kaspi Neft Gas, AO is convinced that significant prospective resources lie even deeper, particularly within the subsalt layers. The company remains committed to its exploration initiatives, planning to conduct further seismic investigations in existing exploration blocks, drill exploratory wells targeting subsalt structures, and broaden its exploration portfolio through direct negotiations with the government for new exploration licenses. In September 2012, Kaspi Neft Gas, AO acquired full ownership of LLP "SapaBarlauService" (now integrated into Kaspi Neft Gas, AO 's exploration assets), as well as 100 percent of LLP NBK, and a 50 percent stake in "Urals Group Limited," which held the license for the Fedorovskiy block since March 2011. Additionally, in March 2011, the company secured four exploration blocks: Temir, Teresken, Uzen-Karamandybas, and Karaton-Sarkamys, further solidifying its commitment to expanding its exploration activities in Kazakhstan.
